Terms and Conditions concerning the use of the NatolinDitigal.eu e-platform at the College of Europe, Natolin

  1. General provisions
  2. These regulations define the terms and conditions of accessing and using the NatolinDigital.eu e-platform (further: Platform), and its resources.
  3. The Platform and all its components are designed for education and information purposes only.
  4. The Platform and all its components are the property of the College of Europe, Natolin (further: CoEN).
  5. The Platform and its resources are available at: https://www.natolindigital.eu.
  6. By using this Platform you confirm that you have read, accepted the present terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by these and the laws which are applicable hereto.
  7. Terms used herein have the following meaning:
  8. Platform: LMS-type information system providing educational resources;
  9. Platform resources: learning materials and other resources available on the Platform;
  10. User: a person who gained access to the password-protected zone of the Platform;
  11. Student: regular student at CoEN.
  1. Principles of using the Platform and its resources
  2. The CoEN sets the conditions for access and is the only entity authorized to give access to the Platform through its regular staff members.
  3. The CoEN grants to students a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Platform resources for the sole purpose of studying at the CoEN.
  4. In all instances, students can gain access to the Platform and its resources only after having provided the signed Admission Acceptance Form to the CoEN.
  5. The CoEN is authorized to remove, or temporarily or permanently block users’ possibility to access the Platform and its resources or otherwise restrict access to them, if:
  6. users use the account in violation of the law or these regulations;
  7. the CoEN received information about a possible security incident, including due to computer viruses or other malicious software.
  8. The CoEN is not obliged to inform Platform users of the circumstances causing the removal or restriction of access to the Platform and its resources.
  9. Use of the Platform and all its components is free of charge. All users of the Platform bear only the cost of their Internet connection.
  10. The Platform uses cookie files. Cookie files (so-called “cookies”) are computer data, in particular text files, that are stored on the Platform users’ device(s). Cookies are used by the Platform to maintain any user’s session. In order to log in, the cookies have to be enabled on the web browser used to access the Platform and its resources.
  1. Responsibility
  2. Users of the Platform are forbidden from modifying, copying, reproducing, publishing, sub-licensing, selling, uploading, broadcasting, posting, transmitting, disseminating, or distributing, or making publicly available in any extent and in any form, or otherwise using in other way than for personal learning resulting from their admission to the European Interdisciplinary Studies programme, any of the Platform resources to which they gain access.
  3. The Platform contains personal data as defined by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR). Personal data  are for internal use only. External reproduction or distribution of these data is strictly forbidden and may lead to personal liability.
  4. Users of the Platform may not modify, adapt, merge, translate, disassemble, decompile, recompile or reverse engineer any software or resources forming part of the Platform or create derivative works based on the whole of or any part of the Platform.
  5. All users are obliged to use the Platform and its resources in a manner consistent with applicable law, social and moral norms, and the provisions of these regulations.
  6. All users are obliged to protect and not to disclose to third parties their access details to the Platform.
  7. The views expressed and linked to the Platform resources are those of the authors, and do not represent the official position of the CoEN.
  8. The CoEN reserves the right to make changes in the Platform’s resources without prior notice.
  9. The CoEN cannot be held liable for:
  10. damage arising from the use or inability to use the Platform and its resources, as well as resulting from the direct or indirect use of the information contained therein into practice;
  11. actions of third parties that support Platform users’ hardware and software to ensure proper and uninterrupted operation of the Internet and their device;
  12. damages to the users’ device or their data resources in the course of, or in connection with, the use of the Platform and its resources, in particular due to computer viruses entered into the users’ systems;
  13. cases of non-availability of the Platform and its resources arising in connection with a failure of the system of telecommunications and/or from other consequences of a malfunction of telecommunications connections and the resulting damage, regardless of the cause.
  14. The CoEN does not guarantee a non-defective and uninterrupted access to the Platform and its resources.
  15. The CoEN does not guarantee that the information transmitted via the Internet to reach the Platform users is faultless, complete and in full form. The CoEN is also not responsible for damages caused by malfunction of the transmission system, including device failures, delays and disruptions of the information transmission.
  1. Final Provisions
  2. These regulations come into force on 21 September 2021.
  3. The CoEN reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time.
  4. Any changes made to these regulations become effective upon their publication on the Platform, at: https://www.natolindigital.eu.
